TEDxAUBG Announces “Contours of Clarity” as the Theme of Its 14th Conference

TEDxAUBG recently announced the theme of its 14th annual conference, organised at the campus of the American University in Bulgaria. This year’s event will go by the name - Contours of Clarity. But what really stands behind a TEDx conference name, and what does this year’s theme represent?

Does the theme predetermine the speeches at TEDxAUBG?

While some TED and TEDx events would center the speeches of the events around the theme, TEDxAUBG has a different approach. The topic doesn’t serve as a criterion for selecting speakers and crafting their speeches, but it would inspire the presented ideas. The goal behind this is that the line-up of speakers is diverse in nationality, background, interests, and the ideas they have to share. This makes the conference a hub for discovering a wide scope of topics and also helps organisers represent more of the audience’s interests, so that everyone is able to resonate deeply with at least one idea. 

That distinguishes TEDxAUBG from other campus events. It is a conference, featuring professionals of different backgrounds, presenting a wide palette of ideas.  

What does Contours of Clarity stand for?

Contours of Clarity, similarly to the many and diverse ideas on TEDxAUBG, stands for the perspectives that shape how we understand the world. Each idea that we hear contributes to our understanding of others, society, and what the future holds. TEDxAUBG brings such ideas to life and makes them accessible to the local community. 

Other than that, the theme serves as the name of the event and helps shape the picturesque visuals. It also aids in crafting what the stage would be like. It is not just a name, but a creative guidance that shapes the full character of the conference.
