Daniel Adsett

Dr. Daniel Adsett is a philosopher and professor at the American University in Bulgaria, where he has been teaching since 2021. Originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, he earned his PhD in Philosophy from Marquette University in 2020.

His work focuses on applied ethics, particularly business ethics and environmental ethics, exploring how philosophical thinking can help us better understand real-world moral challenges.

Dr. Adsett’s research explores questions about rationality, belief, and philosophical approaches to understanding human thinking. In 2025 he published “Karl Jaspers’ Theory of Irrationality: From Delusions to Worldviews,” which examines how irrational beliefs develop and why people sometimes refuse to genuinely consider the possibility that they might be wrong.

His academic work has appeared in journals such as Philosophia, The Heythrop Journal, and International Philosophical Quarterly.

At TEDxAUBG 2026, Dr. Adsett will bring a philosophical perspective on how we form our beliefs and why questioning them might matter more than we think.
